Ten (10) days before and up to procedure:

Do not take any iron tablets or liquid iron 10 days prior to procedure. Do not take an aspirin-containing products 10 days prior to procedure.
|
|
|
|
If you are taking Coumadin, Plavix, Ticlid, Insulin, or pills for diabetes and did not receive instructions about these medications at the time the exam was scheduled, please call the office immediately.
|
|
|
Day before procedure:
|
|
|
Drink one (1) green bottle of citrate of magnesia in the morning the day before procedure.
|
|
|
|
Clear liquid diet all day. No solid food allowed.
|
|
|
Evening before procedure:
|
|
|
It is very important you drink a full 8 oz. glass of clear liquid with each dose of Visocol. Take your last dose with a can of ginger ale (regular or diet). No solid food allowed.
|
|
|
|
First Dose:
Begin the first dosing regimen at 5:00 pm. Take 4 Visocol tablets every 15 minutes with at least 8 oz. of clear liquid until you have taken all 20 tablets. Do not exceed 20 tablets. Drink ginger ale with the last 4 tablets.
• 4 Visocol tablets at 5:00 pm with clear liquid
• 4 Visocol tablets at 5:15 pm with clear liquid
• 4 Visocol tablets at 5:30 pm with clear liquid
• 4 Visocol tablets at 5:45 pm with clear liquid
• 4 Visocol tablets at 6:00 pm with ginger ale

Second Dose:
Begin the second dosing regimen at approximately 9:00 pm, not before. The first four are with clear liquid, the second four with ginger ale.
• 4 Visocol tablets at 9:00 pm with clear liquid
• 4 Visocol tablets at 9:15 pm with ginger ale

|
|
Bedtime:
Take 4 tablets (5 mg) of Dulcolax laxative and make sure you have finished the purgative effect (going to the restroom).
