Preparing for Your Visit

We want your experience at Athens Gastroenterology Center to be as smooth and stress-free as possible. Whether you are coming in for a consultation or a procedure, here’s everything you need to know to get prepared.

What to Bring

Our team is committed to providing you with top-quality care in a welcoming and compassionate environment. To help ensure your visit goes smoothly, please take note of the following important details:

Essential Information

  • Bring your photo ID and the most recent insurance card(s).
  • Plan to arrive early to allow time for traffic, parking, and any necessary paperwork:
  • Go to the Portal to add or update your medical history, medication and demographics.

Also, don’t forget to bring any test results, a list of your current medications, lab work, imaging reports (like X-rays), or other documents relevant to your visit. If you are missing any of these documents, please make sure to send them to our office before your appointment to ensure a smooth process.

Insurance and Billing Information

Athens Gastroenterology Center accepts a wide range of insurance plans. To help ensure your visit is covered, please verify the following with your insurance provider:

  • If the physician and facility are in-network for your plan
  • If your physician is at your preferred tier level
  • Your annual deductible and co-payment details
  • Whether a referral is required for your visit

If a referral is necessary, please make sure it is submitted at least 48 hours before your appointment to avoid any delays.

We will work directly with your insurance to submit primary, secondary, and tertiary claims on your behalf. However, if the necessary information is not provided before your visit, you may be responsible for any outstanding balances.
