What is GI?
What is gastroenterology or GI? Gastroenterology is a medical specialty or study dealing with the digestive system. Gastroenterologists diagnose and treat disorders of the stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas, including ulcers, tumors, inflammatory diseases (such as ulcerative colitis and ile-itis), and rectal disorders.
After 3 years of internal medicine training, GI physicians do an additional 3 to 4 years of training in gastroenterology—a total of 7 to 8 years after medical school.
What is hepatology? Hepatology is the branch of medicine that incorporates the study of liver, gallbladder, biliary tree, and pancreas as well as management of their disorders.
What is Investigative Gastroenterology? Investigative Gastroenterology is a comprehensive approach to diagnosing and treating complex gastrointestinal conditions. It focuses on thorough evaluation, advanced diagnostics, and personalized treatment to uncover the root cause of persistent digestive issues. Rather than treating symptoms alone, this method seeks to identify underlying conditions.
